Most of the time, i use ingredients that serve as an alternative but nearest to its flavor. Sometimes i lack one or more ingredients from the original and sometimes i recreate and introduce new flavors to a dish.
Butter Chicken Masala with Naan Bread
Ingredients:
~Naan Bread~
Bread Flour, 1 and 1/3 cups
Salt, 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder, 1 tsp
Instant Yeast, 1 tsp
Sugar, 1 tbsp
Egg, 1 whole
Milk, 2 tbsp
Warm Water, 1/2 cup
Butter, 2 tbsp for the dough
Melted Butter, 2 tbsp for coating after cooking
~Butter Chicken Masala~
Marinade:
Chicken Leg & Thigh, 3 medium pcs
Chicken Breast, 1/4 kg cubed
Yogurt, 100g
Garlic Powder, 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Ginger Powder, 1 tbsp
Garam Masala, 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder, 1 tsp
Cumin Powder, 1 tsp
Chili Lime Seasoning, 2 tsp
Salt, 1/2 tsp
Kasuri Methi/ Fenugreek Leaves, 1/2 tsp
Sauce:
Cooking Oil, for sauteing
Butter, 2 tbsp
Red Onion, 1 medium size sliced
Ripe Tomatoes, 3 medium size sliced
Garlic Powder, 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Ginger Powder, 1 tbsp
Garam Masala, 1 tsp
Coriander Powder, 1 tsp
Cumin Powder, 1 tsp
Chili Lime Seasoning, 1 tsp
Salt, 1/2 tsp
Brown Sugar, 1 tbsp
Kasuri Methi/ Fenugreek Leaves, 1/2 tsp
Butter, 2 tbsp
Water, 1/2 cup
All-Purpose Cream, 1 cup
Garnish:
Yogurt on top
Fresh Cilantro Leaves
Others:
Cooking Oil, for frying and sauteing
Additional Butter, as needed
*Use Calamansi or Lemon and Chili Powder as alternatives for Chili Lime Seasoning.
*Adjust taste according to your preference.
