Easy Pinoy Style Chili Con Carne

You can either use ground pork or ground beef. What i used here is ground pork. The original Chili Con Carne is beef but you may use whichever is available. Ingredients: 2 cups (15 ounces each) red kidney beans or small red beans, drained 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 large onions, chopped 4 cloves garlic, chopped 1 red bell pepper, chopped 1/2 kilos ground beef or pork 1 can (14.5 ounces) tomatoes or 5 fresh riped tomatoes, sliced 2 teaspoons finely chopped red chili pepper (siling labuyo) 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce 2 tablespoon tomato paste, optional 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 tablespoon patis or fish sauce (Filipino Style of Seasoning) 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed powder dash of ground black pepper *cumin seed is the secret spice for Chili Con Carne's unique taste. Ginisang Mais with Baguio Beans (Sauted White Corn with Green Beans)

Ingredients: 5-6 cobs of white corn, grated 1 medium sized onion 4 cloves garlic, minced 2-3 medium sized tomatoes, diced 1/2 kilo ground pork 3 cups Baguio Beans/Green Beans, sliced into bite size 2 tablespoon patis/fish sauce salt, ground black pepper to taste 2-3 tablespoon cooking oil 1-2 cups water Procedure: Saute onions, garlic and tomatoes in a pan together with the ground pork. Season with patis and ground pepper. Let the pork cook until brown. Add the corn. Stir for a couple of minutes. Add water. Correct the saltness according to your own preference. Add some salt or add water if it is too salty. Add the Baguio Beans. Let it simmer for few minutes until the beans is cooked. Do not over cook. Then it's done! Easy A? =) .

Ginisang Kalabasa at Talbos ng Sayote (Sauted Squash and Chayote Shoots)

Ingredients: 1/4 kilo ground pork or beef 1/2 kilo kalabasa, sliced into 1 inch cubes 1 bundle talbos ng sayote ( Chayote shoots), cut 1 medium sized onion, chopped 3 cloves garlic, chopped 2 meium sized tomatoes, sliced 1 cup water 2 tablespoons cooking oil 1 Knorr Pork/ Beef Cube Seasoning salt or patis to taste ground black pepper Procedure: In a pan, saute the onions, garlic, tomatoes and ground pork/ beef. Season with patis and ground balck pepper. Also you can already add the Knorr Pork/ Beef Cube. When the pork/ beef is already toasted brown, pour 1 cup of water and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Add in the cubed kalabasa or squash. Let it simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until the squash are half cooked. Add more water if needed. Add more 1 teaspoon patis or according to your preferred taste. Add in talbos ng sayote. Simmer for about 3 minutes then it's done. Easy A? =) .
